Ombre / Powder Brows

POWDER BROWS V/S OMBRE BROWS

**Ombre brows** provide more definition compared to **powder brows**. While both techniques create a soft, shaded look, ombre brows are more defined and have a gradient effect, which gives a more makeup-like finish, especially at the tail of the brow. This makes the brows appear more sculpted and bold, with a deeper, darker color at the ends and a lighter, softer shade at the front.

**Powder brows**, on the other hand, are usually softer all over with a uniform color, giving a more natural, filled-in appearance that’s subtle and less dramatic than ombre brows.

So, if you’re aiming for more of a makeup-like, high-definition look, ombre brows are a great choice. I

f you prefer something more understated and natural, powder brows might be the better option!

Frequenlty asked questions

Whether you’re considering getting the procedure done or you’ve recently had it done, we hope this section can provide you with some valuable information to help you make informed decisions and achieve the best possible results.

Powder brows can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. However, the exact duration of the powder brows can vary depending on several factors such as the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and how well they maintain their eyebrow tattoo.

During the peeling or flaking phase of your new powder brows, it is advisable not to wet them. It is important to leave the peeling skin undisturbed, allowing the flakes to fall off naturally. Throughout the healing process, only the products provided by your artist should be used on your brows.

Makeup can be worn on the brows once the peeling or flaking phase is complete, but please

apply it gently, as your skin will still be newly healed. Makeup should not be worn on the brows before that point to allow the skin to heal properly and avoid any risk of infection. Makeup can be worn on the rest of the face immediately after the procedure, as long as it’s kept at least a quarter inch away from the newly done powder brows. It’s a good idea to use clean brushes when applying makeup to the face while your brows heal, just to be safe if a brush accidentally touches your healing brows.

While the skin may seem to be healed once the flaking process is done, the entire healing

process generally takes 4-6 weeks to complete. The skin takes at least four weeks to fully

regenerate and heal beyond just the surface layer of peeling you see. It is imperative to avoid sun exposure to the tattooed area during this time, as sun exposure can result in scar tissue and discoloration. Sunscreen can and should be worn directly on the brows once the peeling process is complete.

Powder brows and microblading are two popular techniques for enhancing eyebrows. While

microblading involves creating fine hair-like strokes in the skin using a handheld tool, powder brows involve shading the brows to create a soft, powdered effect. The main difference between the two techniques is that microblading creates a more textured, hair-like look, while powder brows create a more filled-in, powdered look. Additionally, powder brows tend to last longer than microblading and are better suited for those with oily or mature skin. It’s important to note that both techniques can be done in a way that appears soft and natural.

The best way to maintain your powder brows is to protect them from the sun (wearing sunscreen directly on them daily, paying special attention to reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially when in direct sunlight), and keep products with regenerative or exfoliating properties off of them. Products with regenerative or exfoliating properties would contain retinol, retain-A, glycolic acid, lactic acid, AHA’s, or BHA’s. Sun exposure on your powder brows will not only fade them prematurely but may cause them to discolor as well.

After getting your brows microbladed, you must avoid specific services in the brow area, such as laser treatments (e.g., IPL, BBL, and Fraxel) and chemical peels. Inform your service provider about the tattooed areas, so they can avoid them during these treatments. Moreover, suppose you and your artist decide to significantly change your brow shape during the powder brow session. In that case, it is recommended to maintain the new shape by plucking hairs outside the tattooed area, ensuring a neat appearance.
